Mr. Willie 'Bill' Ridley, beloved husband, daddy and papaw, 91, of Chatsworth, went to glory on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, from his home.

Bill was the son of the late George W. and Annie Gossett Ridley. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delre Baggett Ridley; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Linda Ridley; daughter, Carolyn Wilbanks; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and James Ridley, all of Chatsworth; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Caylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday after 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Hamilton Hospice.

Mr. Gordon Lee Ridley, 90, of Dalton passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Aloe Ridley; parents, George and Annie G. Ridley; brothers, Leonard, Marshall, Henry and Grady Ridley; sisters, Minnie and Avril Ridley.

Dennis C. Ridley

Mr. Dennis C. Ridley, 85, of Fayetteville, N.C., died Sunday, April 8, 2007, in North Carolina.

Dennis was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Annie Ridley; wife, Nell Ridley; sisters, Minnie Ross and Avril Ridley; and brothers, Bill, Lee, Leonard, Grady, Marshall and Henry Ridley.

Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Ridley of Clear Lake Oaks, Calif. and David Ridley of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elbert Ridley, Creed Ridley and Gene Ridley, all of Chatsworth and Linwood Ridley of Rock Spring; nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services are Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Bagley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.

A number of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins mourn his passing as well.

 His family called him Pop. Pop was a master gardener and loved the Earth and watching things grow. He worked hard all his life and was a good Christian man. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy as he grew older. He became blind in his later years, but he never lost his faith in God. Now he can see again.

Funeral services to celebrate Creed's life will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Damon Smith and the Rev. Harold Poteet officiating. Interment will follow in Faith Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.

Troy Ridley; three sisters, Beatrice "Bea" Parker, Thelma Cantrell and Jennie V. Collins; brother-in-law, John Parker; sisters-in-law, Charlcie, Pearl and Kathleen Ridley; niece, Earlene Findley; two great-nieces, Teresa Findley and Elaine Vineyard Cline; four nephews, Paul and Calvin Ridley, Steve Cantrell and Bruce Parker.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Hugh James Fox; son, James Anthony "Tony" Fox and his special friend, Regina Harrison; brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Tommy and Pat Ridley; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Gerald Starks; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Annie Mae Ridley; brothers-in-law, Berry S. Cantrell and Glenn Collins.

She was like a wonderful grandmother to her numerous special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Grethel grew up and lived most of her life in the New Hope Community of Murray County. She loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens. Many of her friends and family received beautiful gifts from these gardens.

Grethel was a 35-year cancer survivor. She worked all these blessed years with the American Cancer Society speaking with breast cancer patients, as head of Relay for Life teams, and any way she could to help others and help with cancer research. She worked many years for Galaxy Carpet in Chatsworth.

Grethel was the first of 11 children to graduate from high school. She was a member of the Murray County High School Class of 1953.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, Chatsworth.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Fox will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Darey Kittle, the Rev. Bill Walker, the Rev. Walter Hare and the Rev. Tommy Ridley officiating.

Burial will be in the New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery.

Mrs. Odell Douthit, 88, of Dalton passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Odell was preceded in death by her father, Fred Ridley; sisters, Dessie Mae Ridley Davenport, Annie Lee Ridley Stewart; first husband, Bill Thomas; second husband, Thomas Douthit; great-nephew, and like a son, Billy Edward Davenport; great special nephew, Wimpy Davenport.

Survivors include her great-niece and her husband, Gary and Jennifer  Davenport Chadwick; great-great-niece, Jenna Grace Chadwick; great-great-nephew, Jake Garrett Chadwick. 

Services to celebrate the life of Odell will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Young officiating. 

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
