Bear In The Square

In the spring every year Dahlonega has the "Bear In The Squre" Blulegrass festival.  Bluegrass musicians good and bad, who haven't quit their day job flock here and jam all over the downtown area.  And, if you want to see some big name professionals bluegrass musicians pay a fee and go inside the big tent.

Hi Hy!

This is Hy.  Hy and I were co-workers.  I always said, "Hi! Hy!" when I first saw her everyday.  She left about the time I retire.  A few years later I ran into Hy at Judy's Country Kitchen Buffet.  She owned it.  We talked.  After she quit the post office she went to South Carolina and opened up a buffet.  That worked out good and she sold it and did the same thing someplace else, then, someplace else, then where I ran into her on Sandy Plains Road.  Her husband was trying to be a comicbook illustrator.  I hoped he finally got his art into print.   Hy has moved on, Judy's is no longer owned by Hy.  It is owned by a relative I think.  But, I bet Hy is still opening all-you-can-eat buffets.

Fouts Family Cemetery, Macon County, NC

This is the Fouts Family Cemetery high on a hill overlooking the Burnilngtown Community, near Franklin, North Carolina.  There are many Rays that married into the Fouts family, and visa-versa.  These markers pictured are ones that I know did.
