Clay Street

Pick a spot in Marietta and chances are there is a story about the spot you are looking at.

Like take this view for instance:  The street was named Clay Street. The street was widened and the name has been chnaged to South Marietta Parkway.  I took this picture from the parking lot of Marietta Chiropodist.  Sixty years ago it was the Shipp's family home.

Across the street is the green grass of Kennesaw College campus and before that it was the campus of Southern Poly Tech, and before that it was the campus of Southern Tech, and before that it was the campus jointly of Kennesaw College and Southern Tech.

Then, there was an old two storied abandoned house which looked much ilke the typical haunted house.  One time as teenagers late at night in the dark a bunch of us went through the old house, upstairs and downstairs.   I vaguely remember someone falling through a floor that night and breaking their leg.
