In and Around Franklin, NC

We often go to the Ray Family Researchers held annually in October, just outside Franklin, NC, in the Iolta Community.  Here, over  150 years ago several of my ancestral lines roamed, farmed, fished, bought and sold land, arrested people, got arrested, and wheeled and dealt.  A lot of my distant cousins are still on these lands.

Oaklawn Cemetery, Jonesboro, Ark

Years ago Anna had a week long business conference in Memphis.  I tagged along.  I forgot my camera.  One day while she was busy with business I drove to Jonesboro, Arkansas, I knew my great  great grandfather Jason Henderson Hunter spent the last years of his life there.  I wanted to find his grave.  I did not find his grave, but I did his granddaughter Edith Hunter Sims and her off springs.

The cemetery was swarming with Dragon Flies.
