Thomas J. Ridley & Maryetta L. Pullen's Children

Addie Jane Ridley (1882-1938).  Addie was born and died in Murray County.  She married  Virgil Enouch Davis (1887 - 1955).     Addie lived 56 years and Virgil lived 68 years.
After Addie died Virgil married Nova Catherine Bookout (1883-1956), daughter of Andrew Jackson Bookout and Sarah Elizabeth Ann Arrowood.    Sarah was previously married to Will Dunn.    Addie, Virgil, their two sons, and Sarah Elizabeth Arrowood are buried at Sumac Presbyterian Cemetery in Crandall, Murray County, Georgia.
One of their sons died at birth.
The other son Virgil Enouch Davis, Jr. enlisted in World War II in the Air Corps and was accidentally killed in training:  Virgil enlisted in the Air Force, he was sent to Texas for training and during  maneuvers a bullet ricocheted and hit him in the head and killed him.

Frances Viola Ridley (1885-1968).  A separate section if about Frances and her husband William Elijah Joseph Petty.

Walter M. Ridley (1888-1953).  Walt was mentally challenged.  He stayed with opal and Viola for years.I heard he used to walk every day from Beaverdale to Crandall to let Viola take care of him.  Then he walked back that night.   In my preteen years I saw Walt a lot, enough for him to know my names and we talked.  I remember one time his niece Opal was mad because he urinated in the bathtub.   He always seemed very gentle and polite.  He always wore overalls. I think he also stayed with his sister Ruby Ridley Dickson.  He spent the last years of his life in the  Georgia State Hospital in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia.  He lived 64 years.   He is buried at Sumac Presbyterian Cemetery with his sister Ruby and her husband Babe in their plot.  He never married and had no children.

Henry Killian "Kate" Ridley (1891-1975).   Kate was a character.  I remember he visited us a couple of times and we visited him.  He moved to Detroit, and like his cousin Ervin Petty, married a landlady one time is his life.  And there were also four other marriages.  His last wife outlived him.  He said she could swing a powerful ax.
The marriages might not be in order:

Henry Killian "Kate" Ridley [5355], son of Thomas Jefferson Ridley [236] and Maryetta Ludarden Pullen [237], was born on 31 Oct 1891 in , Murray Co., GA, died on 28 Jul 1975 in Detroit, , MI at age 83, and was buried in Sumac Presbyterian Cemetery - Murray Co., GA.

Henry married Roxie Williams [5356] [MRIN: 1947].

Henry next married Mary Holland [5357] [MRIN: 1948]. Mary was born on 1 Feb 1902, died on 3 Mar 1940 at age 38, and was buried in Sumac Presbyterian Cemetery - Murray Co., GA. They had three children: Sarah Ruth, Twin Son, and Twin Daughter.

Sarah Ruth Ridley [7292] was born on 15 Mar 1937.

Sarah married John Crump [7293] [MRIN: 2737].

Twin Son Ridley [7294] was born on 15 Aug 1938 and died on 1 Sep 1938.

Twin Daughter Ridley [7295] was born on 15 Aug 1938 and died on 15 Sep 1938.

Henry next married Vertie Thomas [5358] [MRIN: 1949].

Henry next married Lula Whaley [5359] [MRIN: 1950]. Lula was born on 28 Sep 1888, died on 28 Oct 1946 at age 58, and was buried in Dawnville Cemetery, Whitfield Co., GA.

Henry next married Isabell Williams [5360] [MRIN: 1951].  They had one son: William Patton "Pat".

William Patton "Pat" Ridley [7296] was born on 14 Jun 1930.

William married Emma [7297] [MRIN: 2738].  They had four children: Stephen M., Robert V., Martha Elaine, and Dianna Gale.

Stephen M. Ridley [7298] was born on 19 Jun 1951.

Robert V. Ridley [7299] was born after 1953.

Martha Elaine Ridley [7300] was born after 1958.

Dianna Gale Ridley [7301] was born after 1960.
Robert V. Ridley (1894 - 1926).  Robert  had a short life.  He lived 32 years.  He was also married to Isabel Williams, as his brother Kate was.  Robert probably married her first and after he died Kate married her (just speculation).

Neally Ridley (1897 - abt 1897).  Died as an infant.

Ruby Velma Ridley (1900 - 1975).   Ruby married Babe Dickson (1898-1960), son of Mike Dickson and Alice Hayes.  Babe worked for her father.  I was told they were always struggling to make ends meet.  The person who told me this added, "That is what happens when you marry the help."
They had six children, four daughters and two sons.
Ruby lived 75 years and Babe 62 years.  They are buried in Sumac Presbyterian Cemetery in Crandall, Murray County, Georgia.  Also, in their plots are several  of their children and Ruby's brother Walt.
