Cathy Owned Book Exchange
Cathy owned the Book Exchange in Marietta. She bought it years ago from a friendly man who chain smoked. That is about all I know about him: He had a smile, seemed to always be reading a book and he stayed behind the counter. He didn't ask you about your business and he didn't tell you about his.
Cathy bought it she changed things. She was very personable and I think got to know all her regular customers by name. I don't think she was much of a reader, but she hired someone as an assistant who was. Cathy is a people person. She could talk to you endlessly on a common interest you shared with her. For us, it was bicycle riding. She had a knack getting to know southern authors and have them in her store for book signings.
To keep traffic coming to her store she had book club meetings, Mahjon Game day, card games, and other games days.
I think the new owner has picked up the same format.
Cathy loved to take pictures of her customers and post them on Facebook and/or at her store.
This is what this picture is, a "Back Acha!"
