Jones Family Cemetery, Forsyyth County, Ga

The Jones Cemetery is in the middle of  what was Jones property.  Now it is an office park between Cumming and Alpharetta, Georgia.  The Jones are on Anna's mother's mother's side.

Jones Reunion 1929

This is the Jones family of the Alpharetta, Cumming, and Milton area at their 1929 Reunion.  Notice the males are on the left and females on the right, with exceptions of youth.  My mother-in-law, Marie, age 9 at the time, was on the right and her younger brothers are on the left.

Edith Gertrude Jones (1898 - 1986)

This is Anna's great aunt,  Edith Gertrude Jones (1898-1986).  Gertrude is the sister of Anna's grandmother on her mother's side.   She was born in the Alpharetta - Milton area , married near there,  died there,  and is buried at Midway Methodist Church there.   She was a storekeeper.

She lived a short time with her sister, Irene Jones Foster, Anna's grandmother, in Marietta.

At age 47. 20 July 1946, in Forsyth County, Georgia, she married Twigg W. Wood, age 50, she lived 88 years.

Rogers Ferry and Buck Jones

This is Rogers Ferry crossing over the Chattahoochee River, about 1890.   They are probably coming from Atlanta's side to the Roswell side.  On board with his two mules and wagon is William Cinatra "Buck" Jones (1850 - 1930). 

Buck, a farmer,  was a resident of the Cumming-Alpharetta (Milton), Georgia, area.  He was married to Sarah Ann Elizabeth "Sallie" Brown (1848 - 1920).  They were/are Anna's  great great grandparents.

The Jones Family c1903

This is Anna's mother's maternal family.  The picture was taken about 1903 in the Alpharetta, Milton, Cumming Community.  The man is Anna's great grandfather Walter Vernon Jones (1873-1940), little boy Felton Murdock Jones (1900-1981), the lady, Anna's great grandmother, Mintora  Mathis Jones (1880-1975, holding  Nellie Elizabeth Jones (1903-2001).
