The 1910 Census (above) takes a look at the family, probably
on Waterman Street. First of all,
because of the handwriting the family
name was interpreted as Turner not Hunter.
It lists Frank has head of household, Minnie as wife, and
the kids Herbert, Beatrice, Robert, and W.C.
W.C. was born 1908. He was the
last name listed, The next child, Ed would be born in 1911, after this Census
was taken.
The next census, 1920, shows
Frank 41
Frank 41
Minnie 40
Herbert 18
Beatrice 16
Robert 13
W.C. 10
Edward 8
Jack 5
Douglas 4
Edward above is my father. His name was really Edwin. That and the Turner error in the 1910 Census is how Census research can sometimes go astray.
Also look at the census and see Joseph McEntyre is head of a household with Robert and J.R. Robert was 9 years old Robert was Bobby's McEntyre father, and his father Joseph, age 27 was Bobby's grandmother, and now (2013) Bobby is over 2.5 times his grandfather's age. Time flies!

On the 1930 Census Franks family starts at the bottom of one
page and has to continue onto the next page. Next door to them is the Jolly
Spence family. I remember Jolly Spence. He worked at the Atlanta Journal and
Constitution press. Emma Manget i s
listed. It shows she was born in New
York. The Mangets were world travelers
. They lived on the corner of Manget Street and East Dixie
Avenue.
Noticeably missing is my father, Edwin Hunter, who would be 18 on this census. This was the time he worked the summer for
his Uncle Will Tyson and Will didn't pay him for it; also, Herbert Hunter is
not in the household, but then he had his own household, next door. Robert was probably working with the C.C.C.
then. The two new additions was Stanley
and Dick, or as they were enumerated: John S. and James R.
Tyson, William O. 46
Lacy 37
Billy 2
Virginia 1
Hunter, Edwin 19
By the way, here is Ed, as I mentioned, living will his uncle Will Obediah
Tyson, on the 1930 Census in Cherokee County, Georgia. Also on this page of the census John Hunter is listed as living next to Will Tyson. John Hunter was/is John's uncle. He was sandwiched with two uncles, from each parent.

The 1940 Census shows Frank and Herbert separated by a few
households. I just didn't think of it because I didn't look at the numbers, but I see W.C. was at home at age 32 in 1940. He must have been at least 33 when he joined the Army. Jolly Spence is still
there. He was still there when I was
there in 1950 too. The White family and
Holcomb family materialized within the past ten years. I remember the Whites and the Holcombs were
related. The Maude Holcomb family lived
in the same area that my friend Larry Holcomb lived at, and next door the White
family with Cliff and Grace and their two children June and Harry - the names
are a bit confusing. Grace's name is
listed but instead of Cliff White there is a Carl C. White, which I'm sure the
C. stand for Cliff. There is a J.
Harris, which would be Harry, June isn't
listed, but June should have been about 3 years old then. Cliff White was a councilman and after that
Deputy Commissioner to Commissioner Herbert McCollum who was responsible for
changing Cobb County form a farming community to an industrial community to
cater to the Bell Bomber. Interesting,
next door to Herbert Hunter's household
is the Delk family household. They were
competitor barbers in the downtown Marietta area.
