Mayes Ward's Dog

This is Mayes Ward Funeral Home.  I bet every native of Cobb County, over 30 years old, has been to Maye Ward for visitation at least once.   And, locally it is a household name.  They handled the funeral arrangements for Anna’s folks and my folks.

Marietta old timers used to get a kick of telling when Mayes Ward was still alive and running the funeral home he had a little dog named Dammit.  Many times, they could say with a chuckle that Dammit would get where he shouldn’t, and Mayes would hollow out, “DAMMIT, come here!”.

I think Mayes would have really cause the eye-brows to raise if he named the dog “Ass-Hole” or “You Little Fucker.”
