Gerald

This is Gerald.  We are standing on the property my grandmother Minnie Tyson Hunter was born on.  near the intersection of Hwy 92 and Bells Ferry Road.  Gerald is a simi-amateur local historian, specializing in the Civil War.  He has a couple of books out.   He got in touch with me when he read  before Sherman and his war machine arrived in the area his scouts on horseback was checking things out when they had a skirmish with some locals at the Tyson Family Cemetery.  And he wanted to see the little cemetery.  We met nearby and walked to it

Interesting, my great great grandfather Robert Cabel Tyson  is buried there.  He died   April 6, 1864, which would be about the time Sherman's horseback scouts were there skirmishing.
